Pioneer Appalachia Federal Credit Union is proud to support local students as they pursue higher education. Each year, we award scholarships to students who demonstrate academic commitment, community involvement, and a thoughtful approach to their financial future.
Five $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year to eligible student members.

WHO CAN APPLY
The Pioneer AFCU Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are members in good standing of Pioneer Appalachia Federal Credit Union.
• Be a Pioneer AFCU member (student must be the member)
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
• Be pursuing post-secondary education in the upcoming academic year

How to Apply
1. Complete the scholarship application form
2. Submit an original essay responding to the annual prompt
3. Attach an official transcript
4. Include at least one letter of recommendation
Deadline: May 4th, 2026 (close of business)

Who is eligible to apply?
The Pioneer AFCU Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are members of Pioneer Appalachia Federal Credit Union and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. The student applying must be the member — not a parent or guardian.
