1. Membership Requirement: Applicants must be members in good standing of Pioneer Appalachia Federal Credit Union (PAFCU). Membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship, or volunteer in eligible counties in WV, OH, or KY. If you are not already a member, you may be able to join for a $5 fee — if you meet the eligibility requirements. 2. Academic Criteria: Applicants should be either graduating high school seniors or current college students, including those attending career technical centers, community colleges, or junior colleges for the upcoming school year. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale is required.
3. Additional Qualifications: Applicants are expected to demonstrate a blend of academic achievement, work experience, community service, and extracurricular involvement. A key component of the application is an essay that reflects an understanding of PAFCU, along with creativity and strong writing skills. At least one letter of reference is also required.
4. Restrictions: Employees, directors of PAFCU, and their immediate family members are not eligible. Applicants may not receive more than two Pioneer AFCU scholarships in total.
